In 26 years we have never cancelled a cycling, painting or other organised vacation at Le Monastère—even if in the rare case there is only one guest. We aren’t a big business. It’s very personal and low-priced for what we provide. So we can’t afford frivolous cancellations. The deposit is there to ensure you have a spot with us. We don’t overbook and our groups are limited to 14 maximum. As a result, it is highly recommended that you take out travel insurance for your trip with us. Almost all of our guests do take out travel insurance. Once you have made a payment to us it is strictly non-refundable. This needs to be the case to protect those who have taken out travel insurance. We are not heartless, as many of our guests in the past know. For those with no insurance, we will refund if either we or those guests replace the spots. But again, it is highly advisable to take out travel insurance. Our lower prices give you the space for that. There are several reputable travel insurance companies in North America, from where all of our guests come.
On COVID-19 and other potential contagious pandemics: Our staff will all be vaccinated. It should be noted that our vacation are the safest of any. Le Monastère and our properties aren’t open to the general public. All of our breakfasts and dinners can be prepared and enjoyed in Le Monastère and private dining elsewhere. Our rides and painting venues are all in very quiet towns and roads. This goes as well for our special vacations in Prades Tarragona.
The discount is $500 US for those opting for double occupancy. The single occupancy price is only for those insisting on single occupancy. All of our rooms and ensuite bathrooms are very large and comfortable. Double occupancy guests won’t feel cramped at all. Beginning 2025 the extra single occupancy deposit will be raised to $1000 US instead of the double occupancy $500 US.
